The ISDEF conference in 2016 in Kazan: why it was cool
If you are engaged in the it business, then you are very much pulled various conferences on this topic. Mandatory inostranec (jumping on stage and uttering utter banality — which always just sound better in English), a sad representative of the vendor translated karpovoy presentation, premature fat girl, rubbing something about startups, and, of course, all sorts of marketers, optimizers, and business coaches.
ISDEF not so, because it was created by people who are actually working in the it business and was created for themselves. Originally ISDEF (officially a nonprofit organization with office in Moscow) was a closed club of exporters (in which you can only get 2 recommendations from existing members and with the approval of the rest), which was discussed in closed and often very sensitive issues related to the export and promotion in the West. In the last 2 years the course was set for greater openness and involvement of new members and, it seems, he began to make excuses.
I'm in c ISDEF 2010, and for the first time participated in a conference in 2006, and would like to share my impressions from the last conference, which took place on April 21-22 in Kazan. This was the so-called small, ISDEF spring, which is traditionally held outside Moscow this time was about 120 participants.
My main impression of the ISDEF is unreal openness. You can catch behind the button (and it is better to make an appointment via the official app) any speaker or participant and torture everything that has become painful. But the catch is, someone Elcomsoft (it's the ones who won a lawsuit from Adobe), Fast Reports (which introduced the format to the FIU and on), representatives of registrars and even normal lawyers who really understand the it issues and don't charge 600 euros for a 5 minute conversation about the shortcomings of the offshore and the features of KIK. But this does not mean that if a person makes a modest. he will have nothing to do among the bison — on the contrary, such small companies and even entrepreneurs in ISDEF is also a lot of useful, and this is where you can learn a little strength to achieve much.
Reports almost all really helpful, clarified a lot of features that are invisible from the outside and often provide a fresh, unusual perspective on your own problems.
Conference in Kazan personally, I learned at least two superpolished — currency control can be trained to dispense acts (!), HPV and method for compiling a working product description.
Other topics of the conference, which was interesting to me — how to sell in Latin America and where to hire and how to raise a real benefit to marketers.
If you make a report, in 90% of cases this report is based on real events. Some events include stints in foreign prisons, some less dramatic, but almost always useful.
Personal communication, in my opinion, more useful. The only way to get a list of working resources to promote highly technical products, to learn the method of reducing the cost of advertising in print publications and very difficult to understand logic of actions of Google in some cases.
ISDEF was initially focused on those who export software products, but now greatly expanded an impressive list of outsourcers and integrators from all over the country, and it's very cool, as it adds a new dimension to understanding what actually happens in the real it industry in our country, not magic quadrants and custom articles.
Sitting in its niche, even talking on "their" forums, "sour" and lose the sense of reality, and even the taste for work, and ISDEF is correct and gives a powerful stimulus to action.
